Hypnosis Misconceptions

1. Can I get "stuck" in hypnosis?

It is absolutely impossible for anybody to be unable to come out of a trance state. You are always in complete control. Many people "choose" to stay in trance longer than needed, especially when they are in the Coma state. This is only because they enjoy the wonderful and relaxing feeling so much that they want to stay in it longer. We call these people "Hypno-Junkies".

2. Can I be forced to do something against my will while under hypnosis?

You are always aware of every suggestion given while in hypnosis, and have the choice of accepting or rejecting it. It is completely up to you. In order to accept a suggestion, you must have the attitude, "I like that suggestion. I know it's going to work!"

3. Is hypnosis the same as sleep?

No. Although you are in a trance like state before going to sleep, and when awakening, sleep itself is a totally different state. It is very important to stay awake during hypnosis if you want it to be effective.

4. Will I tell all of my secrets while in a trance?

No. You are even more mentally alert, aware and in control. You can hide things, lie and tell me that you wish not to answer.

5. Can hypnosis be dangerous?

I believe there are two ways hypnosis could be dangerous. The first would be listening to a hypnosis tape while driving. This is something you should never do.

Using hypnosis to take away pain can be dangerous if used improperly. Pain is a warning signal from the body that could signal a serious medical condition. Hypnosis for pain has to be very specific to the situation.

You can achieve lasting and profound results with the use of hypnosis, quickly and easily. As long as you understand how safe it is, and you're ready for a change. Happy hypnosis!
