Hypnosis Misconceptions

1. Can I get "stuck" in hypnosis?

It is absolutely impossible for anybody to be unable to come out of a trance state. You are always in complete control. Many people "choose" to stay in trance longer than needed, especially when they are in the Coma state. This is only because they enjoy the wonderful and relaxing feeling so much that they want to stay in it longer. We call these people "Hypno-Junkies".

2. Can I be forced to do something against my will while under hypnosis?

You are always aware of every suggestion given while in hypnosis, and have the choice of accepting or rejecting it. It is completely up to you. In order to accept a suggestion, you must have the attitude, "I like that suggestion. I know it's going to work!"

3. Is hypnosis the same as sleep?

No. Although you are in a trance like state before going to sleep, and when awakening, sleep itself is a totally different state. It is very important to stay awake during hypnosis if you want it to be effective.

4. Will I tell all of my secrets while in a trance?

No. You are even more mentally alert, aware and in control. You can hide things, lie and tell me that you wish not to answer.

5. Can hypnosis be dangerous?

I believe there are two ways hypnosis could be dangerous. The first would be listening to a hypnosis tape while driving. This is something you should never do.

Using hypnosis to take away pain can be dangerous if used improperly. Pain is a warning signal from the body that could signal a serious medical condition. Hypnosis for pain has to be very specific to the situation.

You can achieve lasting and profound results with the use of hypnosis, quickly and easily. As long as you understand how safe it is, and you're ready for a change. Happy hypnosis!

Can you be hypnotised?

Can you be hypnotised????

The answer is yes. Anybody can be hypnotised, if you meet the following criteria:

1. You trust the hypnotist.
A hypnotist must establish a rapport with her client. This means, spending a few minutes getting to know one another. You must feel comfortable with a hypnotist in order for the session to be successful. A good hypnotist will be able to put the client at ease during the pre-talk.

2. You understand the process.
A pre-talk is necessary in order for the client to understand his role in the process, as well as the hypnotist's role. Being able to work together is essential.

3. You are truly ready for a change.
You must be there because you want to be . . . not because your spouse, parent or friend pushed you into it. No amount of hypnosis will help you quit smoking unless you are ready to quit- FOR YOU. Also, you must be absolutely sick and tired of the filthy weed controlling you, and ready to put it down forever. If you are not, then you're wasting your time. Come back when you are ready (and you will be eventually).

4. You are willing to accept the suggestions.
In an hypnotic trance, you are aware and in control at all times. If a suggestion is made that you are unwilling to accept, there is a possibility that you will jump out of trance immediately, accomplishing nothing.

5. You want to be hypnotised. All hypnosis is self-induced. If you are unwilling to cooperate and follow instructions, you will not go into trance.

A hypnosis can vary from a long, slow relaxation technique to an instant induction, depending on the circumstances and the people involved. Some methods work better then others, and everybody has their favorites. If you want to be hypnotised you can be. Cooperation is the key.

You want to laugh, don't you???

It was entertainment night at the senior center, and the Amazing Claude was topping the bill. People came from miles around to see the famed hypnotist do his stuff. As Claude went to the front of the meeting room, he announced, "Unlike most hypnotists who invite two or three people up here to be put into a trance, I intend to hypnotize each and every member of the audience." The excitement was almost electric as Claude withdrew a beautiful antique pocket watch from his coat. "I want each one of you to keep your eye on this antique watch. It's a very special watch. It's been in my family for six generations."

He began to swing the watch gently back and forth while quietly chanting, "Watch the watch, watch the watch, watch the watch..." The crowd was mesmerized as the watch swayed back and forth, light gleaming off its polished surface. Hundreds of pairs of eyes followed the swaying watch until suddenly, it slipped from the hypnotist's fingers and fell to the floor, breaking into a hundred pieces... "SHIT!" said the hypnotist!

It took three days to clean up the senior center.
